Stake.com is a well-known cryptocurrency betting site that is among the few international bookmakers who offer kabaddi betting options. Whilst not specifically geared towards customers from India, Stake does welcome customers from around the world and with a comprehensive sportsbook, punters from India will find plenty to bet on, including kabaddi.
The bookmaker and online casino is owned and operated by Medium Rare N.V., who are registered in Curacao, where they are also licensed. Whilst the casino launched five years ago, in 2017, the sportsbook is a more recent addition and has been online since 2020.
We have taken an in-depth look at all that they have to offer, so be sure to read on.
Pros
Cons
Stake.com comes in a modern and attractive design with a minimal layout and easy navigation. We like the colour scheme, which is a very dark teal. The main menu is on the left-hand side and can be folded away for your convenience. It allows you to focus on the main part of the screen, but still gives you quick-access buttons so you don’t always have to enter the full menu.
The sportsbook is well-organised and doesn’t feel cluttered, which is always good especially when you are still new to sports betting.
If you want to change the language settings, you simply have to scroll down to the bottom of the homepage, where you can change the site to be displayed in Hindi. Here you can also choose who you want the odds to be displayed.
Depending on how nitpicky you want to get, you could criticise the sportsbook for not separating the pre-match and live betting sections better. But we honestly never found this bothersome and since the layout is generally on the simpler side, you won’t be searching for anything for very long.
The mobile page is excellent and offers full functionality on all mobile devices. If you prefer mobile betting, you will find Stake a great choice, even though there are no dedicated mobile betting apps.
Click on any sport in the left-hand menu and you will find ‘live and upcoming’, ‘outrights’ and ‘all’ betting options for each sport. The ‘outrights’ section is usually where you find future events to bet on, though markets are very limited here. Only once matches or events are coming up soon, the betting options get more varied.
You will also be able to click the ‘live’ section at the top of the menu, where all upcoming live events are available in one place.
At the time of our review, the Pro Kabaddi League was still going on, which is why we found betting options easily at Stake. Once you make a selection, your bet will be added to the bet slip, which just pops up from the right-hand side, which is nicely done. Then you get to select your stake and place your bet.
You can place single or multiple bets and take things from there.
Stake.com lists about 30 sports and a handful of eSports for you to bet on. As long as matches are coming up, you will find the sport listed in the left-hand menu. Of course, customers from India can also look forward to some solid cricket betting as well as football and tennis aside from many other sports.
We found the sportsbook at Stake comprehensive and great to use. Be aware that only a handful of matches will also be available for live streaming. Kabaddi is not likely to be among them.
It is also worth noting that the odds offered for smaller leagues or events are not necessarily the best. They are still okay, though, especially considering that you may not find kabaddi betting options at many other sportsbooks.
Stake.com is a crypto betting site, which means you will be able to make deposits and withdrawals only in various cryptocurrencies. These include Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Dogecoin and some others.
If you don’t have crypto yet, you can purchase it through the site using more traditional banking methods such as GPay, Apple Pay or credit cards. Your account balance will be in your chosen cryptocurrency, however.
For ease of use, Stake has introduced the option to have your account balance displayed in a fiat currency. Right now, you can choose Euro, USD or JPY. Indian rupees are not an option, though we were happy enough with the USD option as it gives you a better grasp of your available funds and what you end up betting. Nobody really has a concept of how much BTC 0.000142 might be in a traditional currency.
Do keep in mind that most cryptocurrencies are rather volatile, which is also reflected in the corresponding amount of whatever fiat currency you may choose to display.
If you have any questions about crypto, displaying your account balance in a fiat currency or what the withdrawal limits might be (there are in fact none), you should first check out the help centre. Here you will find various categories and many important topics related to your account, withdrawals, betting at Stake.com and much more.
We found the articles here quite useful and well-written. The professionalism in this area is impressive and many important details are explained in easily understood terms.
If the help centre or FAQ section don’t answer your questions, you can also contact the customer support team via live chat. The team here is professional, helpful and available for whatever issue you might have.
If you generally prefer to have a welcome bonus as an added incentive when signing up at a sportsbook, Stake.com will disappoint you. This bookmaker does not have a welcome offer of any kind. Some may find this a deal-breaker, whilst others won’t mind at all because it means you can simply start betting on kabaddi and don’t have to worry about any wagering requirements attached to bonus funds or free bets you may otherwise have wanted to opt out of.
We honestly don’t mind the lack of a welcome bonus, especially since Stake is not short of promotions. There are plenty of them, in fact. Many of the sports promotions are applicable for specific sports or matches, however, and none of them are specifically available for kabaddi.
That said, some sports promotions can be used for any sport and the regular promotions such as the $50,000 giveaway or the $100k daily race are available for all customers and any type of betting will count towards these promotion, giving you a chance to win extra cash. Wins are paid out in Bitcoin, by the way, even though the promotions are displayed in USD.
Overall, there is an interesting selection of promotions for everyone, and you will often not have to worry about wagering requirements, which is a relief.
Stake.com might be an international betting site, but they do offer the rare opportunity for you to bet on kabaddi whenever a big competition is going on. You get a handful of markets to bet on whenever a match is coming up and the odds are usually competitive even though they are not excellent for smaller leagues or niche sports.
Stake.com has a lot to offer for Indian customers, including the option to display the site in Hindi. It’s overall a great crypto betting site, especially if you are interested in more than just sports betting. The online casino is one of the best ones we have seen lately, offering high quality games and even some big progressive jackpots.
On top of that, Stake enjoys a great reputation, and they are absolutely safe and secure to use, assuring anonymity on all transactions and offering fast withdrawals. We can easily recommend Stake.com as a kabaddi betting site and much more.
