Bengal Warriors
No team in PKL 2019 has scored more points or has a bigger points difference than the Bengal Warriors at the moment. They have three excellent raiders on their side and they can make life very difficult for the opposing raiders.
Leading the way has been Maninder Singh while K Prapanjan and Mohammad Esmaeil Nabibakhsh have not been bad either. The Bengal Warriors will be up against a tough defensive team in the Telugu Titans and that is why the manner in which their raiders react is going to be crucial.
Baldev Singh has been the best defensive player for the Bengal Warriors this season while Rinku Narwal and Jeeva Kumar have been very good as well. The Bengal Warriors are very balanced and well covered in every department yet have managed to win every alternate game so far.
The problem, we believe has been with discipline and errors creeping into their performances. They will want to break that sequence of events with a win against the Telugu Titans.
Telugu Titans
The Telugu Titans have tied one and won one out of its last three matches. That is a good indication of improvement in the manner in which the side has been performing and something to build on. Most importantly, for the Telugu Titans, there are signs that Siddharth Desai is returning to his best.
As one of the most feared raider last season, Siddharth Desai came into this season on the back of an injury and perhaps some unrealistic expectations. Now that he is finding his form, the Telugu Titans have a clear offensive weapon with which to attack their opponents.
The second raider next to Siddharth Desai is a problem since Suraj Desai has struggled, Rajnish has been disappointing, and Armaan is a bit raw.
The defense is also picking up its performance led by Vishal Bhardwaj. The former captain of the Telugu Titans is having a great season and scored 7 tackle points in his team’s victory last night. Abozar Mohajermighani also had his best night and the pair combined to keep the Gujarat Fortunegiants raiders quiet.
The same will be required against the Bengal Warriors, a task that is well within their reach.
No two teams have tied as many matches in the PKL as the Bengal Warriors and the Telugu Titans. There have been 15 matches played between them in the past with the Bengal Warriors winning eight out of them and the Telugu Titans three.
Momentum is something to be respected in the Pro Kabaddi league and we think that is with the Telugu Titans. Siddharth Desai is good enough to challenge the strong Bengal Warriors defense while the Telugu Titans defense can stop their opposing raiders.
