Dabang Delhi K.C. came away with an impressive win against the Bengaluru Bulls in their last match. It was a one-point victory against one of the best sides in Pro Kabaddi 6. We actually think that the margin of victory could have been much more had Dabang Delhi played with more positivity but the result will fill Delhi with confidence none the less.
The match went as Dabang Delhi K.C matches have been going so far. Delhi was quick off the blocks with its raiders doing the job with precision and the defense holding its own against a very good opposing raiding side as well.
Meraj Sheykh and Chandran Ranjit took the lead role from Naveen Kumar in this match. Meraj Sheykh has enjoyed playing at home and has been the highest scorer for Dabang Delhi K.C in the last five matches.
His form and that of Chandran Ranjit takes off a lot of the pressure from Naveen Kumar. The young rookie has seen a slow down in his efficiency and raid point accumulation but could still peak at just the right time.
Joginder Narwal, Vishal Mane, and Ravinder Pahal have been brilliant for Dabang Delhi K.C. in the last five matches. They allow Dabang Delhi to soak up the pressure of the opposing teams after getting an early advantage.
It will be interesting to see how the side responds if it is forced to change its tried and trusted strategy.
The Tamil Thalaivas have a win and tie from their last matches. This could be the start of some good solid returns for the Tamil Thalaivas. We say this because of the recent form of Ajay Thakur. He was brilliant in the last game and literally dragged his side to a tie.
He has a good record against Dabang Delhi K.C. and could be a handful to stop in this match. Thakur has 154 points to his name in this season of the PKL, which is more than 100 points ahead of the next best raider in his side.
Unlike Dabang Delhi K.C. which has three raiders to call upon, Ajay Thakur must do it alone for the Tamil Thalaivas.
He will be hoping that Manjeet Chillar can help keep the Delhi offense under control so that they do not run away with the game. Chillar has 56 tackle points from his 16 games so far and is fourth on the list of defender this season.
The only time that Dabang Delhi K.C and the Haryana Steelers have met each other resulted in a victory for Dabang Delhi K.C. by one solitary point. It was a close match in which Ajay Thakur scored plenty of points.
Dabang Delhi K.C has won four out of its last five matches and the Tamil Thalaivas are also showing some encouraging signs of form in the recent past. Dabang Delhi K.C. is playing its last match at home after a series of back to back matches and that will take its toll as well.
We still think they have enough talent in their ranks to win, though.
Back Dabang Delhi K.C. to win.
