Dabang Delhi K.C.

A thrilling victory against the Telugu Titans in its opening match of the Pro Kabaddi League has provided Dabang Delhi K.C. with the perfect start. The fact that they were able to overcome Siddharth Desai, a traditional foe, is going to make that victory all the sweeter.

Some things were clearly observable in Dabang Delhi’s performance.

Naveen, their talismanic raider, is as sharp as ever and is going to be a nightmare for opposing defenses. He was very fluid in his movement and seemed to be picking off defenders at will. He ended with 14 raid points in the first match and was almost single-handedly keeping Delhi in the game during the crunch situations.

Dabang Delhi K.C. also has a very strong defense that is led by Ravinder Pahal and Joginder Narwal. There were a few mistakes that were made against Suraj Desai in the opening match but we are not too worried about that.

When it came to the important moments in the match, the Dabang Delhi defense was up to the challenge.

If Chandran Ranjit and Meraj Sheyjh can hit top-gear as well then the Dabang Delhi side is going to be very tough to stop. The Tamil Thalaivas are going to pose a tough challenge to the raiders with its defense fortified for this season.

Tamil Thalaivas

The Tamil Thalaivas started PKL 2019 with a comfortable victory as Rahul Chaudhari and Ajay Thakur combined to rip the Telugu Titans defense to shreds. It also helped that Manjeet Chillar, Mohit Chillar, and Ran Singh managed to shut down Siddharth Desai completely.

Is Naveen going to be a bigger threat than Siddharth Desai was to the Tamil Thalaivas? We think so. Unlike Siddharth Desai who is very physical in his approach raiding, Naveen will test Manjeet Chillar and co out technically.

If the Tamil Thalaivas defense can come out victorious in this battle then we think they will end up winning the match.

The Tamil Thalaivas offense is very strong. Rahul Chaudhari looked in supreme touch in the opening match and will be keen to get some revenge against Dabang Delhi K.C. Rahul Chaudhari struggled against Dabang Delhi in the previous season.

Things could be different this time around with Ajay Thakur for company.

Ajay Thakur was a bit subdued in the first game. He got off to a quick start but then fell back a little. He is not used to playing second fiddle to any other raider and waiting for Rahul Chaudhari to do all the work may be messing with his rhythm

It will be interesting to see if he and Rahul Chaudhari can find a system that works for both of them.

The role of Mohit Chillar is going to be very important as well. Manjeet Chillar may have got the limelight with 6 tackle points in the previous match but Mohit’s role in the right corner was just as important.

Defenders

There are some very good options available in every category and there are some tough choices that will have to be made. Mohit Chillar, Joginder Narwal, and Ajeet are the three defenders we have chosen. Ajeet gave a good account of himself in the opening game and his low points value makes him a must-have to balance the side.

All-rounders

We simply did not have enough points to be able to pick Manjeet Chillar or Meraj Sheykh in the side but Ran Singh is not a bad option either. He is primarily going to play as a defender and will hopefully pick up some crucial tackle points for our Dream11 team.

Raiders

This is where we have splurged and picked up Naveen Kumar, Ajay Thakur, and Chandran Ranjit in our side. Naveen and Ajay Thakur are going to be the two biggest threats to the defense in this match. Not picking Rahul Chaudhari was a tactical move seeing his past performances against the Dabang Delhi defense.
