Gujarat Giants
It looks like the combination of Ajay Kumar and Pardeep Kumar is working very well for the Gujarat Giants. They have helped the team come back from the abyss and the Giants genuinely have some winning momentum on their side now. Can they do the same against the Patna Pirates? Well, it is going to be tough but we don't think anyone should be taking this young raiding outfit lightly anymore.
The defense for the Gujarat Giants has also improved. That could be because the team is not losing numbers on the match and can actually try to follow some sort of a pattern. Parvesh Bhainswal and Ravinder Pahal are the names that you want to watch out for in this regard.
Patna Pirates
The Patna Pirates managed to squeeze out a close win against UP Yoddha in the previous match. They did not have Monu Goyat on the mat but Sachin, Guman Singh, and Prashanth Kumar Rai more than made up for his absence. This depth in the raiding department that the Patna Pirates have in their squad and on the mat is just incredible. It makes them difficult to play against.
Of course, we saw the team be completely shut down by the Jaipur Pink Panthers in their match before this one so it is not impossible to stop them either. We don't think the Gujarat Giants have that kind of a defense, though, and it is going to be quite difficult for them to be able to keep the Patna Pirates in check.
Like their attack, the Patna Pirates have a very strong and dependable defense as well. Mohammadreza Chiayneh is the big name here but Sunil and Neeraj Kumar have all been extremely efficient as well.
The Gujarat Giants have inflicted the least amount of all-outs in PKL 2021-22. That shows that the team has struggled to get the upper hand in the raiding department.
We are going to bet on the Patna Pirates to win. They have a stronger offense and their defense is also quite dependable. With the top spot within reach, we expect the Patna Piartes to come out firing on all cylinders.
