The Gujarat Fortunegiants came desperately close to winning against the Haryana Steelers in the previous match but fell short by one point. They could have taken the tie but opted to go for the win because that was the only option ahead of them.
Now, with the season done and dusted, the Gujarat Fortunegiants must try and look for some promising young raiders. Sachin Tanwar turned out to be a damp squib this season and the side had no replacements. Rohit Gulia tried his best but he is just not in the same league as some of the other leading raiders.
The defense is dependent on Parvesh Bhainswal and Sunil Kumar to a large extent. The Gujarat Fortunegiants may want to test out a few other defenders and give its senior pros a rest as well.
Patna Pirates
We are sure that Pardeep Narwal is going to play this game. His hunger for raid points is insatiable and while a finish at the top of the raid points scorers list is unlikely, he is going to try his hardest for sure.
The support for him in this season has been non-existent. The Patna Pirates need to find new players in the raiding department and shore up their defense as well. This is a tough phase for the three-time PKL champions.
The game that they used to dominate has evolved and left them behind.

We think that the Gujarat Fortunegiants have a stronger defensive team than the Patna Pirates. This provides them a strong base to work with. With no real motivation to win for either side, the team with more to gain individually generally plays harder.
