A very tight win against the Gujarat Fortunegiants has ensured that the Haryana Steelers are going to be a part of the PKL 2019 playoffs. It was a nervy performance from a side that has just lost its way a little at this crucial stage of the tournament.
Two losses in their last four matches have shown that the Haryana Steelers can be beaten. Perhaps, the most important thing has been a loss of form for Vikash Kandola. Rated as one of the best and technically sound raiders of the PKL, Vikash Kandola is the heart and soul of the Haryana Steelers.
Prashant Kumar Rai and Vinay have been quite good for the Steelers too but they need Kandla to lead the way.
The Haryana Steelers would be hoping to see its raiding trio back to its best against the Bengaluru Bulls.
The challenge ahead of the defense is going to be pretty steep as well. Dharmaraj Cherlathan is going to be targeting Pawan Kumar Sehrawat. The experienced skipper of the Haryana Steelers is going to have support from Vikas Kale, Chand Singh, and Sunil to help him in his task.
Bengaluru Bulls
The defending champions of the PKL have been able to get this far without being at their best. The Bulls still are not confirmed of their place in the PKL 2019 playoffs but a win here will change that.
The onus of getting them the win is going to be on Pawan Kumar Sehrawat again. He is just two points behind Naveen Kumar in the race to be the lead raider of PKL. He has had more impact on the fortunes of his team than any other raider except for Pardeep Narwal.
If he can get on a roll early then there is going to be no stopping the Bengaluru Bulls.
Rohit Kumar is going to be providing him with the support needed in the attack but his form has not been dependable either. Right now, the Bengaluru BUlsl would be hoping to just get into the playoffs and then they can bank on individual brilliance to carry them the rest of the way, much in the manner that they did last season.
Mahender Singh, Saurabh Nandal, and Amit Sheoran will have the difficult task of stopping the Haryana Steelers raiding trio.
Pawan Kumar Sehrawat has 256 raid points to his name which is the second most in the league right now. The Haryana Steelers have already managed to beat the Bengaluru Bulls once in this season already and hold a 2-1 advantage over them in head to head matches.
We think that the Bengaluru Bulls are the team to back in this contest. They have the motivation required to come hard at the Steelers and also have Pawan Kumar Sehrawat looking to reclaim his top-spot in the race to be the lead raider.
