Jaipur Pink Panthers
A closely contested loss against Dabang Delhi is the only blip that Jaipur Pink Panthers have suffered this season. We don’t think that would trouble them at all because the tournament is a long one and the Jaipur Pink Panthers are still in a very strong position.
The reason for their success can be attributed to a rock-solid defense, the best in the league by most accounts, and the brilliance of Deepak Niwas Hooda in the raiding department. Sandeep Dhull was left scoreless in the previous match against Dabang Delhi K.C. and that would have hurt his ego. He now has a chance to show his real self against Puneri Palatan’s struggling raiding unit.
Amit Hooda and Sunil Siddhgavali will want to ensure that they are pulling their weight in the defense and not just waiting for Sandeep Dhull to make the moves.
Deepak Niwas Hooda, Deepak Narwal, and Ajinkya Pawar will form the raiding unit and just look to continue in the manner they have been this season. The Jaipur Pink Panthers don’t need to change too many things around and should be able to get the job done against Puneri Paltan.
Puneri Paltan
Where is Notin Tomar? That was the question on everyone’s lips but Puneri Palatan’s talismanic raider is back on the mat and raring to go. Nitin Tomar scored 8 raid points in the previous match and even though Puneri Paltan did not win, they were in the contest till the very end.
Having Nitin Tomar available will make a huge difference to the Puneri Paltan fortunes. The only real question remains about keeping him fit for the contests ahead.
Pankaj Mohite is probably going to be the raider that is tasked with providing the support that Nitin Tomar needs to try and get past a very strong Jaipur Pink Panthers defense.
Surjeet Singh is one of the best defenders in PKL but he has not been at his best this season. He has been reluctant to make the first move and put the opposition raiders on the backfoot. Girish Maruti Ernak has taken over as the de-facto leader of the defense and will want to target Deepak Niwas Hooda in this match.
There is not too much of a difference between the two sides even though the Jaipur Pink Panthers have had a lot of success. It is just a matter of getting the mindset right.
