Jaipur Pink Panthers
Nine matches without a win and the Jaipur Pink Panthers are struggling to find a way to end this streak. Deepak Niwas Hooda has not been able to get into raid point-scoring form again. As the captain of the side and the senior most member, he feels compelled to take the important raids himself which ends up harming his side even more.
Players like Deepak Narwal and Nilesh Salunke has shown some good signs in the previous few games so hopefully, Deepak Niwas Hooda will recognize that and give them a larger role.
The defense for the Jaipur Pink Panthers has been struggling too. Sandeep Dhull was being talked about as the best corner defense player in the country after the first six matches of this PKL season but has since regressed.
Vishal registered a magnificent nine tackles just a few days ago and can hopefully continue in that same vein of form. The Jaipur Pink Panthers need to be very sharp against a rejuvenated Puneri Paltan side.
Puneri Paltan
Pankaj Mohite is making sure that PKL is going to remember his name with some brilliant performances. He scored 17 points in the last outing for Puneri Paltan and has been largely responsible for this turnaround in the team’s fortunes.
He and Manjeet have led the raiding unit brilliantly as Nitin Tomar has struggled to regain his best form. A few good performances had raised hopes about Nitin Tomar but we really think it is time to move on from him as the lead defender and use him in short bursts.
This trio will be well aware of the weaknesses in defense of the Pink panthers and will be raring to go.
Puneri Paltan’s defense has been very good on some occasions but really sloppy on others. Surjeet Singh has been the best defender by far but the others have made too many unforced errors. Even someone experienced like Girish Maruti Ernak has been guilty of the same.
This is not a time to waste points and make errors. Puneri Paltan has the momentum on its side but needs to make the most of it otherwise it is going to remain in the bottom half of the table.
The Jaipur Pink Panthers are winless in their previous nine matches and are still looking for their first victory at home. They do, however, have an 8-5 advantage over Puneri Paltan in head to head matches. Two additional matches have been tied between the two sides.
Current form is a huge predictor in the Pro Kabaddi League and this is why we believe Puneri Paltan is going to be tough to stop. The form of Pankaj Mohite gives it a big advantage as does having an experienced defense.
