U Mumba
U Mumba has been very inconsistent this season and veered between being brilliant or being dismal. The defense was supposed to be the strong point for u Mumba with the likes of Fazel ATrachali, Surender Singh, and Sandeep Narwal in the side but their performances have not quite lived up to expectations.
The problems are not just limited to the defense, though. Abhishek Singh has been the best raider for U Mumba so far but he too has been becoming less effective in the last few matches. Rohit Baliyan has not been able to provide the kind of support needed and rookie Arjun Deshwal still has a long way to go.
The Siddharth Desai shaped hole in their side is now starting to become more and more apparent.
We believe that the heart of this side is defense and that is led by Fazel Atrachali. The Sultan, as he is called, needs to find his best form and inspire his troops otherwise U Mumba is going to sink further.
The task ahead against the Gujarat Fortunegiants is not easy.
Gujarat Fortunegiants
One of the most complete sides of PKL 2019, the Gujarat Fortunegiants have a perfect record this season. They were also the side which lost the least number of matches last season and just seem to be continuing in the same vein.
We were very impressed with the Gujarat Fortunegiants defense in the previous match against Dabang Delhi K.C. That was a tough offensive unit coming at them and the Gujarat Fortunegiants stuck to their plans brilliantly.
Parvesh Bhainswal, Sunil Kumar, and Sumit Kumar were stunning in moving about the mat nimbly and keeping two lines of defense on the raider every time they attacked. There were very few mistakes made and eventually they broke down the opposition.
Sachin Tanwar continued his attacking form with help from GB More and Rohit Guliya. It is the last one of these, Rohit Guliya, that is currently the leading raider for the Gujarat Fortunegiants and that just shows the kind of depth they have in their side right now.
There is always a traditional rivalry between Gujarat and Mumbai in all sports. We think there could not have been a better time for the Gujarat Fortunegiants to be coming up against U Mumba.
The Gujarat Fortuengiants have dominated U Mumba in the past and holds a 5-1 advantage over them in head to head matches.
U Mumba is struggling to find its best side right now. The raiding department is unsure, the defense is making uncharacteristic mistakes, and it is now going to face the best team of PKL 2019 so far. We don’t think the home team has any advantage here.
