U Mumba
U Mumba has been one of the most consistent teams in PKL 2019. It may not have won every match but it never dropped too far down in the league table either. The credit for the late resurgence for U Mumba has to go to its raiders.
Abhishek Singh, Arjun Deshwal, and Athul MS are all in fine form right now. We think Athul MS will get an opportunity to play this game and perhaps the other two raiders will be rested ahead of the playoffs.
Personally speaking, we would like to see U Mumba play with its best seven and continue the winning momentum unless there is an injury concern to one of its first-choice players.
Fazel Atrachalai once again finds himself in the top-3 defenders of the league. He is truly the heart of the U Mumba side. His defensive team up with Surinder Singh and Sandeep Narwal is phenomenal and gives U Mumba a very good chance in every match that it plays.
Haryana Steelers
The Haryana Steelers have lost a bit of their fine form and that resulted in them failing to finish in the top-2. Now, the Haryana Steelers will also have to play the Eliminator.
Theoretically speaking, the higher a team finishes, the better its chances of playing against a weaker opponent. The Haryana Steelers are in the third position right now and would like to win this match to give it the best chance of keeping that position.
This is the last match for the Haryana Steelers before the playoffs and this is why we think the team is going to be back to full strength for this match. Everyone will want to be in good spirits going into the Eliminator and a win is the best way to do that.
Vikash Kandola, Prashant Kumar Rai, and Vinay should all be back in the starting seven while Dharmaraj Cheralathan, Vikas Kale, and the rest will be taking up the defensive duties once more.
The Haryana Steelers have inflicted 31 all-outs as compared to 27 for U Mumba. Interestingly, though, the Haryana Steelers have conceded 25 all-outs as compared to 21 for U Mumba, which is the joint least for any team in PKL 2019.
U Mumba has two back to back matches coming up and we don’t think it is going to be too fussed about getting a victory in this match. The Haryana Steelers, on the other hand, have a lot more to play for and should be back to their strongest.
