U Mumba
U Mumba has struggled this season after a promising start and we think it is down to their raiding unit. Abhishek Singh has faded away after a strong start and did not feature in the previous game at all. Maybe U Mumba rested him because of an injury or maybe they are looking at other options but either way, we don’t think it was a bad move by U Mumba.
U Mumba gave Arjun Deshwal a chance to play as the lead raider and he returned that faith with a Super-10 performance. Now, if Abhishek Singh returns in this match, we could see some competition between the two raiders to try and establish themselves as the undisputed leaders of the side.
The defense continues to be good for U Mumba although even that has not been as precise as it has been in the past. SUrjeet Singh has been the best defender for U Mumba leaving behind Fazel Atrachali.
There is a lot for U Mumba to work upon and try to improve in this match.
Patna Pirates
A big win against UP Yoddha in the previous game would have given the Patna Pirates some confidence heading into this match. Their raiding unit finally shed off its cobwebs and starting paying to its potential.
Pardeep Narwal racked up another Super-10 for himself but he cannot be expected to do everything on his own in every match. Jang Jun Lee and Mohammad Esmaeil Maghsoudloyu must step up and pull their weight on the mat.
We don’t think the raiding unit of the Patna Pirates is much better than that of U Mumba and may struggle against a very good defense.
Patna Pirates own defense has been led by Jaideep quite brilliantly. He has been brilliant in anticipation and actively putting himself in positions from where to tackle the raiders. Neeraj Kumar and Hadi Oshtorak will have to be better against U Mumba than they were against U Mumba because the challenge in front of them is going to be stiffer.
There have been twelve matches between the Patna Pirates and U Mumba in the past with seven of them being won by U Mumba and four of them being won by the Patna Pirates. One match ended in a tie.
Patna Pirates may have registered a big victory in their previous match but we are not convinced about their raiding unit just yet. Pardeep Narwal is consistent but no longer the threat he was at his best. U Mumba has a good chance of emerging victorious from this contest.
