U Mumba
U Mumba would be happy with the manner in which its team has performed even though some individuals could improve for sure. Let us take the raiding department for example. Abhishek Singh was expected to be the lead raider and he has done the job admirably in a couple of matches, however, he needs to work on his consistency. At the moment, he is a good raider and not the dominant elite that U Mumba wants him to be. V Ajith has stepped up as the backup raider and is able to pick up crucial points, taking the pressure away from Abhishek. Their combination is working quite well at the moment.
The defense is led by the brilliant Fazel Atrachalai, however, he too has been far from his best. There have been a number of mistakes that have been made and opportunities lost. U Mumba may be in third place but it still has a lot of room for improvement.
UP Yoddha
The big question that UP Yoddha has to answer is whether Pardeep narwal is still good enough to lead the team to victories consistently. We think he is a bit past his prime and definitely slower than he was. As a result, he is still getting to the Super-10's (because he makes so many raids) but he is not able to make the kind of impact needed. Surender Gill is the backup raider of the team and he has been quite impressive in the limited opportunities that he has received. We don't think the UP Yoddha management is going to change tack so soon and actually start using Gill as the lead raider.
The defense of UP Yoddha is always good but its best defender, Nitish Kumar, is still struggling to find form. The team looks way off the pace at the moment to us.
Pardeep Kumar is 8th on the list of successful raids made, behind almost all the other leading raiders of the Pro Kabaddi League.
We are going to bet on U Mumba to win this match. It may not be playing at its best but it is still a lot better than the current UP Yoddha unit. We think this could be a one-sided affair dominated by U Mumba.
