Patna Pirates
There is no way that the Patna Pirates confidence would not be shaken after their loss in the previous match. Not a single point scored for close to 10 minutes of the first half and giving up a lead of 13 points before getting on the board is not something you expect from the most successful side in PKL history.
Pardeep Narwal, Mohammad Esmaeil Maghsoudlou, and Jang Kun Lee were all neutralized by a well-organized defense. The Patna Pirates own defense was also very poor in the previous match. Jaideep has been brilliant for them this season but he was completely off of his game in the previous match.
Errors from the cover defenders, poor strategy, and gifting away points are not going to be spared in the PKL. The Patna Pirates will need to be much better against a dangerous Haryana Steelers side.
Haryana Steelers
The Haryana Steelers have now lost three games in succession but they would have still had something to cheer about in their previous match. The return of Vikash Kandola gave the Haryana Steelers raiding unit the teeth it had been missing in the PKL 2019 season so far.
Now, Vikash Kandola and Naveen, can try and prey on an out of form Patna Pirates.
Naveen is back to being the support raider for the Haryana Steelers, a position that is more suited to his talents in our opinion.
The Haryana Steelers defense is going to be tested by the three-pronged Patna Pirates offense. Dharmaraj Cheralathan is going to have to lead his defense from the front and make sure that no unforced errors are being made on the mat.
The Haryana Steelers are only just playing its full-strength team and the new players seem to be finding their feet as well. We like the look of this Haryana Steelers side and think it could be a good betting opportunity to get behind it.
There have been three matches between the Patna Pirates and the Haryana Steelers. Each side has won one match and the remaining match has been a tie.
The Patna Pirates are a very accomplished side on paper but their performances on the mat have been dismal in the last couple of games. We think there is an opportunity for the Haryana Steelers to pull off an upset now that they have Vikash Khandola back leading the raids.
