Match Analysis

Patna Pirates

The Patna Pirates have been very successful this season and their move to replace Pardeep Narwal seems to be paying dividends. Monu Goyat, Sachin, and Prashanth Kumar Rai are three elite raiders that keep the Patna Pirates dangerous till the very last man. While Monu Goyat is the lead raider, we have been the most impressed with Sachin's ability to get points under pressure. The defense is also keeping pace and making sure that not too many errors are made. Mohammadreza is the leader of the defense but it is also clear that the Patna Pirates are an attack-first team.

Tamil Thalaivas

The Tamil Thalaivas may have won just two matches so far but they also lost just one. With three ties, the team has come close on multiple occasions without getting over the line. For an inexperienced and young team, PKL 2021-22 has been a resounding success so far. The Tamil Thalaivas have three very tall raiders and that gives them a natural advantage on the mat. Manjeet is the most skilled, K Prapanjan is the most experienced, while Bhavani Rajput is tall enough to let some of his mistakes slide! This is a very impressive attack and one that cannot be underestimated against any team.

Equally impressive has been the defense for the Tamil Thalaivas. Sagar seems to have taken the mantle of the leader of the defense and is very decisive with his tackles. The Tamil Thalaivas are not going to be easy opponents for any team in the Pro Kabaddi League.
