Patna Pirates
A brilliant game from Pardeep Narwal where he scored 14 raid points for the Patna Pirates went in vain as he failed to receive any kind of notable support once again. There were many times in the previous match against the Bengaluru Bulls where the Patna Pirates could have taken a decisive lead or prevented the Bengaluru Bulls from making a comeback but no one stepped up.
Mohammad Maghsoudlou has failed to live up to the hype that was around him and teams are going to be wary of putting their maximum salary’s in the hands of Iranians with big reputations agains unless they have performed in the PKL as well.
Jaideep is the lone fighter in the defense although Hadi Oshtorak has also made some terrific moves in the last few matches.
As a unit, the Patna Pirates just do not have enough depth in the attack or enough consistency in the defense. In crucial moments, they have found to be lacking and continue to depend on Pardeep Narwal to do something spectacular.
UP Yoddha
The news around PKL is that Monu Goyat is going to be back on the mat for UP Yoddha in this match against the Patna Pirates. Monu Goyat may not have been the most effective raider for UP Yoddha so far but his experience is going to be invaluable going into the final few group matches of the season.
Meanwhile, if Shrikant Jadhav can continue his good form and get some assistance from Rishank Devadiga then UP Yoddha is going to be very difficult to stop.
The Patna Pirates defense has a number of holes in it and the UP Yoddha raiders are good enough to make the most of these weaknesses.
Sumit and Nitesh Kumar have been very efficient in the defense and will be targeting pardeep narwal in this game. They know that the Patna Pirates are going to struggle massively if Pardeep Narwal is neutralized. Nitesh Kumar has been a bit less consistent than last season but to expect 100 tackle points in every PKL is also not realistic.
The Patna Pirates hold a 4-2 advantage over UP Yoddha in head to head encounters. There has also been one tied game between the two teams.
Patna Pirates has been the worst team we have seen in PKL 2019. Take Pardeep Narwal away and you have nothing. Its recent form is poor, the confidence of the side is low, and it is up against a side which is on the cusp of the qualification zone.
Bet on UP Yoddha to win.
