Puneri Paltan
If there is one team that seems to have taken a huge step backward then that is Puneri Paltan. A couple of important changes in the lineup (like the exclusion of Pankaj Mohite) did not end up making much of a difference to the outcome. Aslam Inamdar was given the role of lead raider but he was unable to make much of an impact. Overall, the raiding potential of Puneri Paltan continues to appear to be the weakest in PKL 2021-22. For a format where the raiders rule the roost, this is a huge problem and no easy answers seem to be available.
Vishal Bhardwaj did show some signs of his best in the defense and that is something to build on, however, even in this aspect, Puneri Paltan just does not seem to have the depth needed to make the biggest impact.
Gujarat Fortune Giants
The Gujarat Giants have lost just two out of the five matches it has played but it is struggling to break out of the crowded midfield. We think the loss of Sachin from the raiding department has left it weaker than the management would have imagined. Rakesh Narwal is a quality raider but he is not at the elite level required in PKL 2021-22. It also does not help that the famed Gujarat Giants defense is not being able to perform as expected either.
Parvesh Bhainswal is a star defender but his lack of impact on the mat this season would be worrying. The Gujarat Giants are certainly flawed but they have still performed better than Puneri Paltan and would be certainly looking at this next as a good way to return to winning ways.

Puneri Paltan has the least successful raids out of any team in the entire PKL 2021. It is also the last when it comes to the Total Points scored.
Verdict
We are going to bet on the Gujarat Giants to win this match. They have been below their best, when you compare them to previous seasons, however, they are still a better unit than Puneri Paltan. The offensive capabilities of Puneri Paltan are just not good enough to win consistently at the moment and betting against them is the only smart thing to do.
