Match Analysis

Tamil Thalaivas

The spotlight is going to be on Rahul Chaudhari as he comes to Chennai as a part of the home team for the first time. As the frontline raider for the side, Rahul Chaudhari has been quite brilliant this season. He has been at the forefront of attack and has ensured that the Tamil Thalaivas are not found wanting against any defensive unit.

He has got some very good support from Ajay Thakur, who seems to have found his best form in recent matches. Thakur is the raider that the Thalaivas turn to when its ‘do or die’ situation or when no mistakes can be made.

Rounding out the strong Tamil Thalaivas side is its brilliant defense. Mohit Chillar and Manjeet Chillar are in spectacular form and will be a good match against Pawan Kumar Sehrawat. Manjeet Chillar currently sits in second place in terms of tackle points across the entire league.

The Tamil Thalaivas could have easily had a few more wins to their name but some unforced errors stopped them from doing so. If the side can avoid them in this match then they have a very good chance of winning.

Bengaluru Bulls

An impressive run of three victories in a row has now been replaced by two losses in the last two matches for the Bengaluru Bulls. The Bengaluru Bulls have been one of the more inconsistent sides this season and a large part of their success seems to be built around Pawan Kumar Sehrawat.

Every time that Pawan Kumar Sehrawat is given free rein, he helps the Bengaluru Bulls win but if he is held back or the defense is able to keep him off the mat for long durations, then the Bengaluru Bulls suffer.

He is covering up a lot of their faults and it is just a matter of time before they are found out.

Rohit Kumar is not close to being back at his best despite some glimmers of hope. Similarly, Mahendar Singh is often the lone man that is doing the job required in the defense.

The Bengaluru Bulls are going to be up against a very strong defensive side in this match and if Pawan Kumar Sehrawat is not able to find a way past them, we don’t see any plan B in place.

Key stat

The Bengaluru Bulls and the Tamil Thalaivas have played each other six times in the past with five of those matches being won by the Bengaluru Bulls.

Verdict

The home team curse is against the Tamil Thalaivas but we are hopeful that they will be able to break past it! The Tamil Thalaivas have a better-rounded side and should be able to outlast the defending champions.

Bet on the Tamil Thalaivas to win.
