Tamil Thalaivas
The Tamil Thalaivas tried a few different things in their previous match against the Bengal Warriors but neither of them came off. They were decimated 52-21 in the end and looked completely dejected. Bhavani Rajput led the way for them in the raiding department with support from Himanshu. We are not sure if the same lineup will play this match as well but if it does, we don't expect any major improvements. Also, the brilliant defense that we saw from the Tamil Thalaivas also seems to have given way.
There is no momentum or even a winning drive that is seen on the side of the Tamil Thalaivas.
Gujarat Giants
With no option of dropping points in its final two matches, the Gujarat Giants would want to win this match with as big a margin as they can. They certainly have the talent in the raiding department with Rakesh leading the way. They have been energetic on the mat and have been able to find ways of picking up points consistently. Parvesh Bhainswal is the lynchpin of the defense and his experience is going to come in very handy in these crunch games.
The Gujarat Giants are definitely stronger than the Tamil Thalaivas and should be able to win quite comfortably.
Key stat
Sagar is the top defender of PKL 2021-22 and Surjeet Singh is also in the top-10 defenders by tackle points. They will need to be at their best to avoid a repeat of what happened in the previous match against the Bengal Warriors.
Verdict
We are going to bet on the Gujarat Giants to win. They certainly have the stronger raiding department and with a number of new faces, the Tamil Thalaivas may not be as sound in defense as you would normally expect.
