Tamil Thalaivas
The previous match that the Tamil Thalaivas played against the Jaipur Pink Panthers was quite disappointing for the Tamil Thalaivas. There were several opportunities for them to wrap up the game and register a victory but they did not end up making the most of their opportunities.
As a result, they now go into this match with a fair bit of pressure on them.
Rahul Chaudhari and the fired-up Ajay Thakur had to work very hard for their points in the previous match. The Jaipur defense was tough and the same can be expected against U Mumba. There was never too much of leeway given tot he raiders and they struggled to find a way past.
The absence of Manjeet CHillar was felt on the mat even though Ran Singh did a fine job in his absence. We think the Tamil Thalaivas are still a little unsure as to the best utilization of their resources and that could be an issue for them down the line.
U Mumba
Can U Mumba finally find a way to win two consecutive matches in PKL 2019? We certainly think it is possible looking at the quality they have on their side. Abhishek Singh was back on the mat for U Mumba in the previous match and showed just how much he deserved to be the lead raider for the side.
He was quick, decisive, and kept the pressure on the defense at all times.
With Rohit Baliyan and Arjun Deshwal in their raiding unit, U Mumba should have enough in their arsenal to be able to trouble the Tamil Thalaivas defense.
Defense, as we all know, is U Mumba’s strength. Fazel Atrachali, Surinder Singh, and Sandeep Narwal are going to be a handful for Rahul Chaudhari and company. We have a feeling that U Mumba is going to unleash the beast and let Sandeep Narwal play some attacking kabaddi on both sides of the mat.
U Mumba will know that the pressure is on Tamil Thalaivas in this match and they will wait for the home team to come to them rather than committing mistakes by being too eager.
There have only been three matches played between the Tamil Thalaivas and U Mumba so far. Two out of those have been won by U Mumba while the Tamil Thalaivas won the remaining encounter.
We think U Mumba has not quite got its best act together in PKl 2019 but is close to doing so. Their offense is getting sorted out while the defense continues to be formidable. The Tamil Thalaivas seem to have much deeper rooted problems plaguing them.
