U.P Yoddha has played two bruising, tightly contested ties in its last two matches. The last contest against the Telugu Titans was a low scoring affair with the scoreline being 26-26 at the end of it. While we don’t think U.P Yoddha will be expected to hold down the Bengaluru Bulls to such a low total, the performance of the defensive unit in the last game would have definitely boosted its confidence.
Shrikanth Jadhav continued his good form as he was the leading points scorer in the last game as well. Jadhav forms an integral part of the U.P Yoddha raiding unit. Prashanth Kumar Rai, with 69 points this season, is also a part of that unit. Some may even say he is the leader of the offense thanks to his consistency and ability to innovate in difficult situations.
Perhaps equally important for U.P Yoddha would be the performance of Jeeva Kumar and the other defenders in this game. The Bengaluru Bulls have one of the most potent raiding units in this tournament and if U.P. Yoddha can find a way to keep the opposition under control then they have a chance to win.
The Bengaluru Bulls have been near unstoppable this season thanks to the form of players like Rohit Kumar, Pawan Kumar Sehrawat, and Kashling Adake. These three raiders have been a potent force in each of Bengaluru Bulls previous matches, especially now that Rohit Kumar seems to have hit top-form as well.
There is no question, though, that Pawan Kumar Sehrawat with 79 points from just six matches is going to be the key to this contest. His average of 13.7 points per game and the ability to score Super Raids with ease make him perhaps the most valuable Raider in this season of the PKL.
The Bengaluru Bulls have fine-tuned their strategy to play a high energy sort of game with attack being the focus. U.P Yoddha will know that its last home game could be the most demanding one yet.
The Bengaluru Bulls hold a nice advantage over the U.P. Yoddha in head to head advantages up until this point. They have played each other four times with the Bengaluru Bulls winning three times. More importantly, the Bengaluru Bulls also managed to get past U.P Yoddha with ease when they played earlier in this season.
The Bengaluru Bulls are the overwhelming favorites coming into this contest. A look at all the factors shows that they have most things going in their favor. They have possibly the best raiding unit in the competition, are in excellent form, and are well rested. U. P Yoddha, on the other hand, is at the end of a grueling and demanding home leg which would have drained it physically.
Back the Bengaluru Bulls to win.
