UP Yoddha
The addition to Monu Goyat to the UP Yoddha side gave them a nice trio of raiders to work with. The team management would have hoped that this trio of raiders would be able to provide it with enough offensive capabilities while a strong defense side continues to function as it had in previous seasons.
That has not happened so far.
Monu Goyat, Rishank Devadiga, and Shrikant Jadhav have not been able to provide enough raiding quality to be competitive against the top sides. Rishank Devadiga is returning from an injury and was not at his best immediately after but the other two raiders have been disappointing as well.
There have been very small phases of play where the raiders hit their stride and start to turn things around but no combination of raiders has been able to apply sustained pressure. Up against one of the best defensive sides in PKL 2019, the task for UP Yoddha’s raiders is tough.
Sumit has been the best defender for UP Yoddha and although Nitesh Kumar has not been at his best, he has not been bad either. If the raiders get their act together then UP Yoddha will start to win matches.
Jaipur Pink Panthers
There has been an air of ruthlessness in the manner which the Jaipur Pink Panthers have approached PKL 2019. Their players fight for every point, every tackle, look to take every bonus available, and hate making errors. Skipper Deepak Niwas Hooda has led from the front by being the best raider for his team.
He is also severe on any unforced errors and can often be seen talking passionately to his players.
His team seems to be responding to him, though, as Deepak Narwal, Nitin Rawal, and Amit Hooda all have raised their game in PKL 2019.
Perhaps as big a star for the Jaipur Pink Panthers as Deepak Niwas Hooda has been Sandeep Dhull. The left corner defender is currently fighting for the top spot in the number of tackles this season. He has been quick, decisive, and aggressive enough to target the prime opposing raiders.
He is going to be a real handful for the UP Yoddha offense.
This will just be the fourth match between the Jaipur Pink Panthers and UP Yoddha. The previous three have seen the Jaipur Pink panthers win two and UP Yoddha one.
The Jaipur Pink Panthers are playing some of the best kabaddi we have seen in PKL 2019. They have good form on their side and are a very balanced side. It is difficult to see UP Yoddha win this match unless something exceptional happens.
